35th International Artists’ Symposium, Municipal Museum of Art, Gyor, Hungary 2003
The museum building had originally been a hospital for the sick and the poor and during my research the Bishop discovered a transcript of 480 names for the period between 1715-1899.
I created 500 handmade cards and transcribed each one with a name and date, the date of death and not of arrival as I had originally thought. I kept the title New Arrivals because it speaks of the flow of people.
Hand made paper, pen and ink.
I used a baroque style of lettering because the city of Gyor is full of baroque architecture.
Photographers ; Janos Eifert, Ivan Csudai and Susan Leask.
