2 site-specific installations in the attics of a recently vacated packaging warehouse in Duke St, Liverpool. The large building was a key venue for the Independents, Liverpool Biennial of Contemporary Art, 2002. Photographer; Roger Sinek.
I used geo-synthetic textile material to cut through the attic space echoing the shape of the plaster covered beams, sieved blue pigment onto the floorboards and flooded the room in deep blue light. Room size 8 x 5 x 4.5m.
I wove rope light covered in a pink gel through the left over crate shelving, adding mirror film and bubble wrap to this multi-media installation.
Bubble wrap was one of the main products supplied by the LBK packaging company who had vacated this space. I covered the floor in bubble wrap and sound was created as the visitor passed through. Room size 7.65 x 3.2 x 4.5m.
Blacking out the windows to create the light installation also blacked out the view so I created a peephole but within that I placed a prism covered in pink gel offering a rosy pink view of the city.
